First off, I hope everyones New Year has been going good so far! Mine definitely has I’m so excited for what this year has to bring for BG5. This last year has been such a crazy journey and I know we still have so far to go and I’m ready for it!

     I feel like I’ve been so focused on my work this past year that I’ve forgotten to make time for my friends. It dawned on my as 2009 was coming to an end that I had seen my good friends maybe a handful of times in the past year. It’s so easy to be so focused on something that everything else sort of falls away for a while. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I definitely was feeling like I was missing quality time with people I care about. Right before New Years Eve I was able to reconnect with all of my closest friends, from past and present, over a span of 3 days. And I just felt so happy and filled up afterwards. I was so wrapped up in my work that I forgot how necessary it is sometimes to just stop and…spend some time. Time to talk, time to listen, time to laugh and be involved in peoples lives. It seems like it’s getting harder and harder to connect and stay connected with people these days. So this year I’m going to try a lot harder to make the effort to be involved in my friends lives. If you ever say to yourself , “I miss_______”(fill in the blank haha) then take the time to call that person and get back in touch. It’s so much better to be connected.
